Marisa Leto

I believe that every woman holds within her the answers to the sometimes difficult challenges that can occur during pregnancy and postpartum.

It is a profound privilege to be a participant in a woman’s life during this time of great intensity.

My clinical areas of interest are: pregnancy, postpartum, depression/anxiety, trauma, family/marital/parenting, adolescence, substance use and abuse

I am a California native and have lived in Northern California since 1986.

You’ll find me in the ocean at every possible opportunity. I also regularly hike and love to cook when time allows.

I value family and practice daily to cultivate high regard with everyone I come into contact with.

I care very much about the unique barriers that women face in health care, and am delighted to apply the culmination of my professional and personal life experience to Kaiser’s Early Start program.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2004, and currently work at both the Richmond and Pinole Medical Centers. I thoroughly enjoy working with our OB patients to enhance their pregnancy experience and support healthy decision making for the best possible outcome for them and their new babies. I have worked with families since 1988 in a variety of settings, and have developed a style of working with women and children that promotes optimal quality of life choices.

I earned a Master of Science degree in Marriage, Family & Child Counseling at San Francisco State University in 1990, and have been a member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists since 1988.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
