“In giving birth to our babies, we may find that we give birth to new possibilities within ourselves.”
—Myla & Jon Kabat-Zinn

I am thrilled to be an Early Start Specialist and have the opportunity to be part of such a unique and special time in women’s lives. Pregnancy is a transitional time that can often bring us new awareness and understanding of ourselves. It can also be difficult as ALL transitions in life (even the really amazing ones) involve loss of some kind. My job is to help women through this transitional time as they develop healthy coping skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for themselves and their babies.

Some moms-to-be may even discover pregnancy is an opportunity…

My areas of interest and specialty include depression, anxiety, emotional eating, and substance use in pregnancy.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2013. I worked as a clinician in the Department of Psychiatry and as an Educator in the Department of Health Education before joining the Early Start team in OBGYN.

I am a mother of three and spend most of my free time with my husband, daughter, and two sons. I grew up in Sonoma County and knew it was time to return when I had a family of my own. What a beautiful place we live in with so many caring communities. I felt so supported through my three pregnancies and I’m grateful to now be assisting others through this intense and special time in their lives.

I graduated from UC Davis in 2000 and went on to attend University of San Francisco for my graduate degree in Counseling. I currently have a private practice in Petaluma in addition to the work I do as an Early Start Specialist.
