As an Early Start Specialist, I enjoy talking to patients about their pregnancy experience, relationships, children, work, and hobbies. It feels very special to be a part of women’s prenatal team and contributing to the birth of a healthy baby.
My approach in counseling is nonjudgmental and client-centered. I believe my clients are experts at finding what works best for them to improve their lives. My role is to provide support and resources and to help patients lead lives that are consistent with their values and beliefs.
My Areas of clinical interest include: Mindfulness, Stress and Coping, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, and Brief Therapy.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2017.
I am a Bay Area native and love it here. I grew up in an immigrant family and spent my summers visiting relatives in Taiwan. I am married and have two sweet young boys and a youthful Coton de Tulear (a little white dog that originates in Madagascar).
My hobbies include traveling, eating, reading, practicing yoga, running, snowboarding, and various arts and crafts projects. I’m a believer of enjoying life through a healthy lifestyle, cultivating relationships, mindfulness, gratitude and compassion for others.
I earned my BA in Psychology at UC Berkeley and completed my doctoral education at John F. Kennedy University. My internship and post-doctoral fellowship was at Portia Bell Hume Center, a community-based organization where I provided outpatient therapy to children and families and conducted a wide range of psychological/neuropsychological evaluations. In 2016, I completed an advanced fellowship in Health Psychology at California Pacific Medical Center. I’ve been a licensed psychologist since 2010.
